Flemington racing takes place on Saturday, February 14, with a 10-race program set down for Flemington racetrack.
Here are our best bets from the meeting, which also features in our Saturday selections.

Race 2 No.6- Fiorenot


Keen on Fiorenot to make it three on the trot in Race 2. The only question mark might be if he has much more to offer so deep into his current preparation but the lightly raced five-year-old seems to be thriving with racing, while every indication is that the extra 200m should be right up his alley. He has been too good for the likes of Ambassadorial and Yes I Know at his past two, which have been over the 1800m at Flemington. Six winners have already come out of those races, including Ambassadorial, who strolled home in the opener at Caulfield last weekend. The Tom Dabernig-trained galloper comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner, he gets weight relief, and he has posted the fastest last 200m in each of his past three. He can keep the roll going. 

Race 3 No.3- Custom


Looking at a little bit of value in Race 3 and it is Custom that can upset the Thousand Guineas (1600m)winner, Ole Dancer, who resumes. The latter has been easy in the market since the barrier draw, while Custom has been a firmer. She has a fitness edge and was good first up when catching the eye over the last 400m to place 4th against the colts and geldings in the Manfred Stakes (1200m), beaten just over a length when running out of room late in the piece. She was kept to shorter trips at her last prep but the 1400m shapes as her go here and she should land in the box seat from barrier 2 with Jamie Melham in the saddle. 

Race 8 No.1- Giga Kick


Giga Kick looks the one to beat in the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes. The Clayton Douglas-trained gelding is a proven fresh performer and returned last preparation with a blistering win at Caulfield over 1100m, running more than 14 lengths faster than standard benchmark, before validating that performance at the elite level when taking out the Champions Sprint (1200m) down the Flemington straight. He has since trialled strongly, beating home My Gladiola, and maps ideally from barrier 6 to stalk what shapes as genuine speed. With race-day hardness, straight-track form and a devastating turn of foot from the 400m, he gets every chance to assert his class first-up again.
