Morphettville racing takes place on Saturday, August 29 with a 9-race program set down for the Morphettville racetrack.

Race 3: No.5 Regal Ripper

The Team Stokes-trained galloper has found his mojo this time in and on his home track again, looks in the mix for back-to-back victories in this event.

Last start, the Zousain gelding was fourth-up and finally found his best form when he took out a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1544m.

After drawing wide, Noel Callow settled him back in the field to the turn before tracking wide, then coming down the centre of the track, arrived in time to grab the win on the line.

From gate six here, he maps to settle near mid-field with Callow backing-up for the ride in this assignment.

Both career wins have come on this track and at his peak here, the four-year-old looks a serious contender for the big prize in this contest.

Race 4: No.12 Bohemian Angel

Team Stokes saddle-up Bohemian Angel here who is third-up and has done enough to suggest she is ready to strike in this event.

Last start, the Harry Angel mare made it two-straight podium finishes when she finished third in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1000m.

On a Heavy 9 that day, Noel Callow had her settled mid-field to the turn before scouting wide on the turn, and in the run home, the mare chased them all the way and did well to arrive in time and claim the minor prize on the line.

Facing BM0-66 company here, the mare should find this a little easier and from gate nine, she maps to cross and settle in the back-half of the field with Will Price returning for his second ride on the mare.

Placed twice in two previous third-up appearances, the five-year-old will strip fitter here and does look a winning chance in this contest.

Race 7: No.9 The Cosmic One

The Travis Doudle-trained galloper is high-flying this preparation and clearly looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the Cosmic Force gelding made it three wins from four starts this campaign when he took out a BM72 over 1250m, here on the Parks circuit.

With regular rider Ben Price aboard, he settled better than mid-field but was trapped three-deep without cover to the turn, then in the run home, boxed-on strongly and found the front, then hung on gamely to grab the gold medal for the race.

Much better drawn in gate three here, he maps to settle near the speed, possibly box-seating with Price at the helm again.

Stepping-up to Open class company here, he drops 4.5kgs for the 1200m trip and at his peak after four runs back, he looks the testing material in this contest.
