Belmont racing takes place on Saturday, August 29 with an 8-race program set down for the Belmont racetrack.

The Neil Dellar-trained galloper is in career-best form and looks well placed here to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the five-year-old made it three wins from her past four starts when she took out a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m on the Scarpside circuit at Pinjarra.

Taking up the running on settling, she set a solid pace to the turn, then in the run home had plenty left to give and went on to score untroubled, crossing the line more than a length ahead of the 12-strong field.

Facing Rating 66+ company here, she leaves the machine from gate four and maps to be leading them again with Clint Johnston-Porter retaining the ride.

Down 3.5kgs from her last-start win, she can give them something to chase in this contest.

Race 5: No.2 God’s Cross

Bruce Watkins saddles-up God’s Cross here who has returned to the track on a high and looks set for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Playing God gelding resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and did it in style by taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Bunbury.

Jason Whiting settled him back in the field and was trapped three-deep to the turn before tracking even wider then in the run home, he was the widest on the track and even on one rein, he still finished best to claim the gold medal in the race.

Well drawn in gate four, he maps to settle near mid-field with cover and has Whiting backing-up for the ride.

Already a winner when second-up and down 2kgs on that last start win, he looks a serious contender for the major prize in this event.

Race 8: No.7 The Crimson Pirate

The Daniel Morton-trained galloper is in sensational form boasting 11 podium finishes from his 12 career starts to date and looks a shoe in of keeping that record going in this event.

Last start, the Trapeze Artist gelding resumed after a 19-week absence and did well when he beat all but one home in a Rating 72+ Hcp, here over 1400m.

Brad Parnham settled him near mid-field on the fence to the turn, then taking advantage of the cut-away rail, slipped along the inside and looked the winner but his condition gave out inside the final 50 metres and he had to settle for second prize on the day.

Fitter for that run, he draws ideally in gate three here where he maps to be box-seating on settling and has regular rider Lucy Fiore back to take the reins for this assignment.

Already a winner when second-up, the four-year-old stands out here and looks the testing material in this contest.
