Race 5: No.4 Cosmic Order
The Matt Smith-trained galloper has her third race start here and has given every indication she can make her presence felt in this event.
Last start, the Cosmic Force filly improved off her unplaced debut effort when she broke through in a set weights Maiden Plate, here over 1000m.
Leading the way soon after the start, the filly set a good pace to the turn, then in the run home was hounded all the way to the line by Radicals but fended off the challenge and hung on to win on a Soft 6 that day with Ash Morgan in the saddle.
Nicely drawn in gate four here, she maps to be on the speed again with Morgan retaining the ride and fitter for those two runs, the three-year-old sure looks up to this Class 1 and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 6: No.4 Mind Ya Bizz
High-flying after two starts back, the Brad Widdup-trained galloper is yet to run a bad race and ticks all the boxes here that suggest she is the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Heroic Valour filly went one better than her first-up second at this track when she broke through for her Maiden win over 1200m at Gosford.
With Tommy Berry aboard, the filly made light work of the Heavy 8 conditions on the day when sent out a white-hot $1.70 favourite, took control of affairs in the run home and went on to score untroubled in the end.
Stepping-up to Class 1 company here, she draws well in gate four and maps to settle right behind the speed with Tyler Schiller back for his second ride on the filly.
Third-up and wet-track ready, the three-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 7: No.1 Dubai Warrior
Another from the Matt Smith stables is Dubai Warrior who is second-up here and his resume suggests he can take out this event.
Last start, the Pride of Dubai gelding resumed after almost 12 months off the scene and impressed when finishing third in a BM64 over 1600m at Gosford.
Apprentice Claire Ramsbotham had the reins that day on a Heavy 8 and after settling mid-field on the fence, the gelding tracked the leaders into the straight and never stopped chasing, arriving in time to claim the minor prize in the race.
Well drawn in gate six, he maps to cross and settle in the first half-dozen with the in-form Siena Grima aboard as the new pilot and already a two-time winner when second-up, looks a serious threat in this contest.
Race 8: No.10 Vingt Neuf Noir
The John Thompson-trained galloper is in top-shelf form after three runs back and looks well place here for the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the Zousain filly came off an impressive maiden win and franked that effort when she won just as easily, taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Gosford.
On a Heavy 8 that day, she jumped from the outside gate (8) where Chad Schofield eased her back to last on settling before fanning wide and taking the turn via the cape.
On straightening, she still spotted the front runners six lengths but from there, stormed home to win comfortably in the end, with plenty to spare.
Ideally drawn in gate two here, she does little to no early work as she maps to settle back in the field again where the step-up to 1100m looks ideal for her now.
Dylan Gibbons is legged aboard for the first time and already a winner when third-up, the hat-trick is looking good and a ticket on both totes is highly recommended in this contest.
