Happy Valley racing takes place on Sunday, 1 November with a 10-race program set down for the Happy Valley racetrack.

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Happy Valley racetrack.

Race 4: No.2  Georgian Sigma

The Tony Cruza-trained galloper is high-flying after four starts back and looks ideally placed here to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Shalaa gelding made it four-straight podium finishes when he beat all but one home in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1000m.

Jumping from the carpark (gate 12 of 12), Angus Chung had him just behind the leader on settling but was trapped four-wide to the turn, then in the run home, he kept pace with them and did a mighty job to stick on for second prize after covering so much extra ground and conceded 4.5kgs to the winner.

Drawn far better here in gate three, he maps to settle just behind the speed and could be box-seating with Chung in the saddle again.

A track specialist and at his peak here, the four-year-old should take some beating in this contest.

Race 7: No.4  Turquoise Velocity

The Francis Lui-trained galloper is in great touch after two starts back and looks ready to go one better in this event.

Last start, the Zoustar gelding made it back-to-back runner-up prizes when he beat all but one home in a Class 2 Hcp over 1200m at Sha Tin.

Karis Teetan settled him fourth just off the speed to the turn, then in the run home he played his part in a four-horse battle before grabbing the silver medal on the line.

He draws ideally in gate two and maps to settle near the speed again with Teetan retaining the ride for this assignment.

Even fitter here and already a winner when third-up, the five-year-old should get every opportunity to record his fifth career win in this contest.

Race 8: No.8  Jumbo Blessing

Caspar Fownes saddles-up Jumbo Blessing here who has won his past three starts and unbeaten after two runs back this preparation, looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the Starspangledbanner gelding made it back-to-back successes when he took out another Class 4 Hcp, here over 1000m.

Slowly away, the topweight (with 61kgs) settled second-last and was spotting the leaders eight lengths nearing the turn before Vince Ho steered him wide, then in the run home, he grew an extra leg and finished over the top of them to claim victory by a length on the line.

Stepping-up in grade today, he draws ideally in gate two and maps to settle near mid-field with Ho steering the ship again.

This is his hardest test to date but he drops 5.5kgs for the challenge and already a three-time winner at the track and distance, he still looks the testing material in this contest.
