Doomben racing takes place on Saturday, April 12 with a 9-race program set down for Doomben racetrack.

Race 4: No.10 Misting
Race 8: No.5 Thankyou Henry
Race 9: No.12 Set To Shine

Race 4: No.10 Misting

The David Vandyke-trained Misting is second-up here and at the weights, looks sensational value in this event.

Last start, the Cosmic Force filly resumed off a lengthy 21-week break and impressed when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast.

Prior to that, she did score a maiden win in the city (three starts back) at Eagle Farm over the mile with Angela Jones in the saddle.

The three-year-old returns to the 1600m trip here against her own age and drops 5.5kgs in the process with Jones returning for the ride in this assignment where she draws gate five and is expected to settle back in the field.

Fitter for that first-up effort and down so much in weight, she looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 8: No.5 Thankyou Henry

Tony Georgieff saddles-up Thankyou Henry here who has hardly put a foot wrong in a nine-start career to date and looks well placed here to bring up his first win on the Doomben track.

Last start, the Kobayashi gelding made it consecutive runner-up prizes when he beat all but one home in a No Metro Win event, here over 1200m.

He meets similar company here but steps-up to the 1350m trip which looks ideal for him at this stage.

Emily Lang is legged aboard for the first time and after her claim, the four-year-old will carry 2.5kgs less than last start.

Nicely drawn in gate three, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen and should have cover as well.

At his peak here after three runs back, a trouble-free run should see him very hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 9: No.12 Set To Shine

The Tony Gollan-trained galloper lines-up here amongst three of her stablemates and in top-shelf form of late, looks the best of them in this event.

Last start, the I Am Invincible mare came off a BM78 win at Eagle Farm when she stepped-up to BM85 company and did well to beat all but one home over 1400m on the same track.

The five-year-old faces Open company here but drops 3.5kgs off her last start effort with Emily Lang remaining aboard.

She draws ideally in gate three and maps to be parked just behind the speed on settling.

Boasting track specialist status, with four wins and three minor placings from eight starts here, a clear run to the line should be all she needs to play a major role in the outcome of this contest.
