Ascot racing takes place on Saturday, April 12 with a 9-race program set down for Ascot racetrack.
- Race 2: No.7 Ahyeahrighto
- Race 3: No.2 Lova Session
- Race 8: No.7 Jokers Grin
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Ascot racetrack.
Race 2: No.7 Ahyeahrighto
The Brad Graham-trained galloper has made a big impact in his eight starts to date and second-up here looks in the mix for another solid performance.
Last start, the Harry Angel gelding resumed off a 20-week absence and impressed when he beat all but one home in a One Metro Win event, here over 1000m.
The four-year-old has collected three wins and as many minor placings from his eight starts to date and from gate six in this contest, he maps to settle off the speed with regular rider Brad Parnham on board again.
Already a winner when second-up and down 3kgs on his last start, he looks a serious contender for the major prize.
Race 3: No.2 Lova Session
Adam Durrant saddles-up Lova Session here who is third-up and has done enough to suggest she can go back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Sessions mare was second-up and collected first prize in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1400m.
With William Pike aboard for his ninth ride on the mare, she settled back in the field (on the fence) and after pulling wide on the turn, she arrived just in time to claim the gold medal.
Fitter for two runs back, she draws wide here in gate 10 and maps to cross and settle back in the field again.
Down in grade and already a winner here, a clear run home should see her enter the fight and prove hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 8: No.7 Jokers Grin
The Bernie Miller-trained Jokers Grin has an impeccable resume, boasting six wins from his eight starts to date and looks poised for another top-line performance in this event.
Last start, the Maschino gelding was fresh off a 17-week break when he took out a set weights event, here over the 1000m sprint with regular rider Patrick Carbery in the saddle.
His stats sheet rates him very high for this event where he draws ideally in gate three and maps to settle mid-field on the fence.
The four-year-old is unbeaten in two previous second-up appearances and has Carbery remaining at the helm for this assignment.
Impressive first-up last start, he looks set to go on with it in this contest.
