Race 3: No.4 Sowilo Siren
The Sharlee Hoofman-trained galloper has found his mojo this preparation and looks ideally placed here to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Invader gelding was fourth-up and bounced back from a poor effort at Townsville when he took out an Open Hcp over 1000m at Atherton.
He settled mid-field to the turn before improving his position then in the run home, did best to get the job done, winning by half a length on the line.
At his peak here, he draws well in gate four where he maps to settle just behind the speed and after steering him to victory twice previously, ‘Lethal’ Lacey Morrison returns to steer the ship for this assignment.
A track and distance specialist, boasting three wins and two runner-up finishes here, the five-year-old should take plenty of beating in this contest.
Race 5: No.3 Indefinite
Bodine Bailey saddles-up Indefinite here who is high-flying after two starts back and ticks enough boxes here to suggest back-to-back wins are on the cards in this event.
Last start, the Brazen Beau gelding was second-up when he went one better by taking out a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1400m.
Lacey Morrison settled him mid-field to the turn before coming off heels and in the run home, ranged alongside the leader and in the end, finished too strong, grabbing the gold medal on the line.
Nicely drawn in gate three here, he maps to settle just behind the speed and boasting a 28% success rate with the stable, Morrison has the reins again for this assignment.
At his peak and already a track and distance winner here, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 7: No.5 Tambo’s Justice
Townsville trainer Georgie Holt brings Tambo’s Justice to Cains for the first time and in top-shelf form after two starts back, he looks a genuine chance for a track debut victory in this event.
Last start, the Justify gelding came off a BM78 win on his home track when he took his place in the Cleveland Bay Hcp and as the $3.20 favourite, proved too strong for them in the 1300m event.
Doing it tough from gate 11 (of 16), he settled better than mid-field but trapped wide to the turn, then on straightening, had plenty up his sleeve and inside the final 200m, took the lead and went on to win impressively.
Ideally drawn in gate four here, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Ash Butler in the saddle again and with a trouble-free run, he looks the testing material in this contest.
