Belmont racing takes place on Saturday, August 1 with an 8-race program set down for the Belmont racetrack.

The Adam Durrant-trained galloper has just his second race start here but looks well placed to go one better in this event.

Last start, the Maurice gelding made his debut after several trials and did well to beat all but one home in a 1300m Maiden at Pinjarra.

William Pike settled him mid-field and trapped three-deep to the turn before coming off heels and running home strongly to take home second prize in the race.

From gate ten here, he maps to cross and settle near mid-field with Chris Parnham as the new pilot for this assignment.

Fitter for that debut effort, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 7: No.4 Angel Undercover

The Team Casey-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest she will play a major role in the outcome of this event.

Last start, the Harry Angel mare resumed after seven months in the paddock and did well to beat all but one home in a Rating 72 Hcp, here over 1200m.

On a Soft 7 that day, she settled three pairs back one off the fence to the turn before tracking wide and in the run home, hit the line strongly but found one a little better on the day, taking home second prize.

From barrier eight, she maps to settle near mid-field with Chris Parnham back for his third ride on the mare.

Already a winner when second-up and has saluted at Belmont previously, the five-year-old looks in the mix here for the gold medal in this contest.

Race 8: No.5 Berry Blast

Simon Miller saddles-up Berry Blast here who is high-flying this time in and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Merchant Navy mare was third-up when she claimed victory in a Class 3 Hcp over 1400m at Pinjarra.

On a Heavy 8 that day, she settled last of the ten runners in the blinding rain before tracking wide on the turn, then scouting down the outside of the track, she found the better going and finished best to go on and win by a length on the line.

In much better conditions here, she draws ideally in gate two and maps to do no early work as she settles near mid-field in the fence.

Clint Johnston-Porter retains the ride and at her peak here, the three-year-old looks set to make a bid for two-straight in this contest.
