The Tony Ball-trained galloper is second-up here and showed enough upon his return that he can go better in this event.
Last start, the Graff gelding resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and did well to beat all but one home in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1100m.
Shannen Llewellyn settled him mid-field to the turn, then worked him forward between runners and whilst too far back to be a winning chance, he stormed home to take second prize, beaten a neck on the line.
Stepping-up to BM72 company here, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle back in the field with the 1200m trip looking ideal for him now.
On firmer ground here and fitter after that first-up effort, he looks in the mix for the big prize in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Aye Aye Captain
In good touch this preparation, the Les Bridge-trained galloper boasts a strong record at the track and is well drawn to add another victory to the resume in this event.
Last start, the Merchant Navy mare came off a hat-trick of podium finishes when she finished mid-field in a BM78 over 1400m at Randwick.
Despite the perfect run, box-seating to the turn, the Heavy 9 surface worked against her that day as she plugged on to finish fifth in the 10-strong field.
A firmer track is forecast here where she draws ideally in gate three and maps to be box-seating again with regular rider Kerrin McEvoy on board for his seventh ride on the mare.
Already a two-time winner at Rosehill, the four-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 10: No.5 Polyglot
Michael Freedman saddles-up Polyglot here who is two starts into this campaign and ticks all the boxes that suggest he is a prime candidate for victory in this event.
Last start, the Lonhro gelding was second-up and showed a ton of improvement that saw him take out a BM78 Hcp, here over 1100m.
With Tim Clark aboard, he settled mid-field from gate six to the turn before securing a rails run and inside the final 300m, took the lead then hung on gamely to claim the gold medal in the race.
He carries 2kgs more here as he meets similar company and with Clark in the saddle again, he leaves the machine from gate six and maps to settle mid-field or better.
Two wins and five minor placings from his seven starts at the track and distance suggest he has a liking to Rosehill and fitter for two runs back, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
