Ballarat Racing Tips for June 12 – Bounce back at Ballarat with Dancing Dolly to thrive in the conditions

This shapes as a suitable race for Forbidden Desire. The Lloyd Kennewell-trained galloper comes out of stronger Maiden races than this and wasn't far away when 5th on the Caulfield Heath two starts ago behind Rubare before again finishing in that position in a $150,000 Saturday race at Sandown a few weeks ago. She has been well supported in the betting since final acceptances and the step up to the 1200m looks like it will suit, while she handles a track with a bit of give in it. 

Dreck is a clear top pick in Race 4, stepping out to the 1400m for the first time. The four-start Maiden has been knocking on the door at his current campaign, placing 3rd at the Warrnambool carnival when resuming over the 1200m in a race that has already produced a whopping six winners. He then headed to Hamilton and was rolled by the runner-up out of the race from the ‘Bool, Queen Christine, but came home with the fastest last 200m and enjoyed a decent gap on the rest of them. The son of Dirty Work will settle just off the speed from barrier 4 and will be hard to hold out with Thomas Stockdale to ride. He has provided a 31% profit on turnover when combining with the Wilde stable from 60 starts. 

Dancing Dolly shapes as an improver in Race 5. The four-year-old comes in with six weeks in between runs and was just a tad to keen when finishing 6th as a $3 chance in a Heat of the Sabaj mile at Cranbourne in late April. She comes in with a promising trial win and was a dominant three-length winner at Ballarat when third up at her last campaign, while she will relish the soft to heavy conditions on Friday.
