Race 1: No.8 She’s Capitana

The Adam Durrant-trained galloper has made a solid start to her racing career so far and looks every chance of going back-to-back in this event.

Last start, the Sessions filly was having just her second race start and did it easy in the end when taking out a 1000m Maiden at Northam with William Pike in control.

Settling second (on the fence), she held her own before Pike asked her for more and she duly obliged, kicking clear and going on to win by a length on the line.

Climbing the ladder today, she faces Class 1 competition and draws ideally in gate two where she maps to settle on the speed with Pike in the saddle again.

Even fitter for two runs in, the three-year-old should prove hard to beat in this contest.

Race 6: No.9 Savage Dancer

Team Williams saddle-up Savage Dancer here who is second-up and worthy of another win in this event.

Last start, the Shamus Award mare resumed off a 19-week break and impressed when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Belmont.

Drawn the outside gate (11), she settled last and did well to lodge a serious challenge for victory, finishing strongly enough to claim second prize, beaten half a length on the line.

The four-year-old gets the gun-run from gate one today and does no early work as she maps to settle in the field again.

William Pike is backing-up for the ride and fitter for one run back, the mare should prove hard to keep out in this contest.

Race 8: No.2 Playin’it Sweet

The Adam Durrant-trained galloper is yet to miss a podium finish in seven career starts and looks ideally placed here to ring-up another a top-three finish in this event.

Last start, the Playing God filly was shooting for the hat-trick and with her first look at the 1400m, did well to grab third prize in the BM72 event on this track.

She settled back in the field before scouting five-wide on the turn where she put in a big finish and passed all but two of them in the run home, setting the best closing splits for the race.

Well drawn in gate three today, she maps to settle better than mid-field and after steering her to all four career wins to date, Lucy Fiore is again at the helm and at her peak here, the three-year-old looks mighty hard to beat in this contest.
