It was a solid local debut by the former West Australian galloper, Tennessee Spirit, at Caulfield on May 27 and the daughter of Capitalist should be hard to beat in the opener based on that effort. Now in the hands of Toby Lake at Bendigo, Tennessee Spirit led over the 1000m on the Heath and set a solid tempo before just going down late in the piece, going 1.3 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is nearly six lengths better than what any contender in this race has produced. She placed in all three of her runs in the west and had trialled well in the lead in to Caulfield. From barrier 1, the three-year-old wont have to work too hard early on and can either lead or sit leaders back with cover. Expect her to be hard to get past at the business end. 

Swift Endorsement might be worth something at the each-way quote in Race 2. The Hayes galloper has placed twice in his five starts and looks like he will appreciate the rise tothe 1300m. He was warming up late when 5th at Werribee over the 1100m when resuming before a last start 3rd behind Dark Fox at Kilmore, again over the 1100m. He was well beaten but the winner out of that looks to be well abover average and he did close off well. This is not a strong maiden and the son of Star Turn will strip fitter, while he should be strong late in the piece.
