  • My Bonnie Lassie is tipped to break through in Race 1 after consistent recent runs.
  • Adki, a heavy track specialist, is expected to improve second-up in Race 6.
  • Conditions suit both selections, making them standout bets on the Wangaratta card.

Wangaratta racing takes place on Monday, July 6, with a program set down for Wangaratta.

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which is one of two meetings in Victoria on Monday that we are covering in our daily tips.

Race 1 No.10- My Bonnie Lassie

My Bonnie Lassie can go close in the opner at Wangaratta. The Jerome Hunter filly is yet to win in six starts but has finished runner-up in two of her last four, including a last start effort when narrowly missing at Moe on a Heavy track behind Blue Humma, with those two putting a six-length gap on the rest of them. She went 1.6 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. She is likely to strike a similar surface again and will cross over the sit outside the leader early on. Expect her to be hard to get past in the last 100m.

Race 6 No.9- Adki

Adki is set to be an improver in Race 6. The veteran galloper returned at Echuca for another preparation recently and led them up at a very solid tempo before just tiring late for 5th behind Sioux Warrior. She was a five-length improver when second up at her last preparation, when placing at Moe and went on to win a couple of races at Wodonga. The nine-year-old is no stranger to Heavy tracks and has won three and placed in a further five from 14, while she shouldnt have too much trouble finding the lead early on and settling into her rhythm.
