Swan Hill Racing Tips for August 21 – Jimmy to light the Bonfire in Race 4

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which is one of two meetings in Victoria on Friday, alongside  the meeting at Sale.

Looking to get a headstart on Saturday with the Winx Stakes one to look forward to and keen on Bonfire Jimmy in Race 4. The Warrnambool galloper is searching or his second career win and has been unlucky in his three starts this preparation when held up on each occasion, including one over the 1200m two starts ago on Soft going at Swan Hill when running into brick walls in the last 150m. He comes back to a shorter trip and was runner-up over the 1000m when resuming. The son of Manhattan Rain comes into this fourth up and gets the blinkers on for the first time. Expect him to go very close. 

This is a weak race and Wolfoffitroystreet can just about make it back to back wins after taking out his Maiden at Ballarat at his most recent start. That came on the Synthetic and he was jumping sharply in distance from the 1600m but was able to lead all the way, going 1.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best alst start figure of any runner in this race. He jumps out further in ground, which should suit, and he has placed on two of three on Soft to Heavy ground throughout his career, with those coming over shorter trips.
