Race 4: No.3 Starzintheireyes
The Randwick-based galloper is second-up here and seeing Rosehill for the first time, looks in the mix for a track debut victory in this event.
Last start, the Starspangledbanner gelding resumed off a 13-week spell and impressed when he beat all but one home in a BM94 Hcp, here over 1600m.
From barrier eight (of 11), Zac Lloyd settled him back in the field before tracking wide and improving before the turn, then down the centre of the track he finished strongly but was beaten by one fitter on the day.
Drawn better here in gate five, he maps to settle mid-field with cover and has James McDonald as the new pilot.
Dropping back to BM88 opposition here and already a winner when second-up, he looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 7: No.4 Gangsta Granny
Team Hawkes saddle-up Gangsta Granny here who is third-up and looks ready to pounce in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Written Tycoon mare showed plenty of improvement when second-up, she beat all but one home in the Group 2 Sheraco Stakes, here over 1200m.
Dylan Gibbons has her box-seating on settling to the turn before easing off the fence, then chased the leader home all the way but was unable to make up the ground in time, having to settle for second prize in the race.
Facing Group 2 company again, she draws gate seven and maps to cross and settle just behind the speed with Gibbons in the saddle again.
Already a winner when third-up and yet to miss the podium in five starts at the track, the five-year-old looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 8: No.1 Guest House
The Victorian-based galloper is second-up here and has put his cards on the table and looks a serious contender for victory in this event.
Last start, the Home Affairs colt resumed after a lengthy six months off the scene and simply picked-up where he left off by taking out the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes, here over 1100m.
Regular rider Zac Lloyd had him box-seating on settling to the turn, then angling for a rails-run, he was held-up to the 200m mark, before finally securing that inside passage where he slipped inside race-favourite Blue Dorr and finishing the better, went on to score by more than a length on the line.
From gate five, he maps to cross and be box-seating once more with Lloyd steering the ship again.
The Blue Diamond winner came north earlier this year to grab this year’s Golden Slipper and has now returned for a tilt at taking home this year’s Golden Rose as well and looking at his resume, the stats say this came most certainly happen.
