Race 4: No.5 Mahershala
The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper is unbeaten in two starts back and looks set to make his debut a winning one in this event.
Last start, the Per Incanto gelding went back-to-back when he clobbered his rivals in a BM66 over 1200m at Sandown.
On a Heavy 8 that day, Craig Williams settled him second outside the leader before taking over inside the final 400m and in full flight, drew clear to go on and win by two lengths on the line.
Seeing Randwick for the first time here, he draws well in gate four and maps to settle mid-field or better with Zac Lloyd in the saddle for the first time.
Fighting fit after two runs and in winning form, he looks the testing material in this event.
Race 7: No.1 Benevac
Ciaron Maher saddles-up Benvac here who is in top-shelf form this time in and looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Bivouac gelding came off a hat-trick of minor placings when he took out a BM72, here over 1100m.
Siena Grima was aboard that day and had the gelding leading on settling, then in the run home, made light work on the Heavy 9 conditions and raced away to score by almost three lengths on the line.
Meeting similar company here, he draws ideally in gate three and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Grima on board again.
At his peak here, the three-year-old should take a ton of beating in this contest.
Race 8: No.10 Narbold
The Chris Waller-trained galloper has done everything but win this time in and ticks all the boxes that suggest he can get the job done in this event.
Last start, the Churchill gelding was thereabouts again when he finished third in a BM88, here over 1400m.
On a Heavy 9 that day, Tyler Schiller settled him back last of the 11-strong field where still seeing them all on the turn, he then scouted wide and in the run home, passed all but the first two across the line, beaten just two lengths in the end.
Meeting similar company here, the step-up to the mile trip looks ideal for him now where he draws to do no early work from gate three as he settles back in the pack with James McDonald as the new pilot.
Placed three times from as many starts over the track and distance, a trouble-free run here can see him break the shackles and bring up his fourth career win in this contest.
