Race 3: No.4 Haida Gwaii
The Michael Lane-trained galloper resumes after five months off the scene and boasting a strong first-up record, looks a genuine contender in this event.
Last start, the English-bred mare ended her last campaign with a fifth-straight podium finish when she beat all but one home in a Rating 72 Hcp over 1000m at Ascot.
With Brad Parnham aboard, she led from barrier rise and set a cracking pace then in the run to the line she looked home for all money but was grabbed on the line by her stablemate (Santanova), beaten a whisker.
Returning to work, she has contested three trials, winning one in the process, in preparation for Belmont debut here.
Nicely drawn in gate four, Parnham remains aboard in search of his fifth win on the mare with speed maps suggesting she could be box-seating on settling.
Already a two-time winner when first-up, the four-year-old will take beating in this contest.
Race 7: No.11 Madhi Girl
Simon Miller saddles-up Madhi Girl here who is second-up and ticks the right boxes that suggest she can figure in this event.
Last start, the Winning Rupert mare resumed after six months in the paddock and in need of the run, finished mid-field in the Listed Beaufine Stakes, here over 1000m.
William Pike settled her a little worse than mid-field to the turn and unable to secure a clear run until the 150m mark, the mare could only manage to pass a couple, finishing eighth in the 16-strong field.
Meeting Listed company again over 1200m this time, she gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle mid-field on the fence with Pike in the saddle again.
Already a two-time winner when second-up and boasting two wins from three visits to Belmont, she looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 8: No.6 Rock The Market
The Simon Miller-trained galloper has taken all before her by stringing together eight-straight podium finishes in her career to date and fourth-up here, she looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Fastnet Rock mare was shooting for the hat-trick when she crossed the line in third place in a One Metro Win Hcp, here over 1400m.
Stepping-up from 1200m for the first time, she settled three pairs back but caught three-deep to the turn, then tracked even wider and in the run home, never stopped chasing but found the extra trip too much to overcome after spotting the leader some five lengths from the turn.
Facing similar company here over the 1400m trip again, she draws ideally in gate four and maps to be parked right behind the speed with cover and Brad Parnham back to ride after steering her to victory two starts back.
A proven track specialist, the four-year-old will be at her peak here and looks the testing material in this contest.
