Pakenham racing takes place on Monday, August 3, with a competitive provincial meeting set down for Pakenham.

Race 5 No.9- Australian Legacy


Australian Legacy can go on with the job in Race 5. The Hayes galloper has had the two starts for a win, which came on the Ballarat Synthetic when resuming last month. She got away with a soft time of it up front and cleared out with Cicconi Rain, with those two putting a gap on the rest of them. Form from that has held up with Cicconi Rain and another of the beaten brigade going on to win at their next start. The four-year-old should have improvement to come at her second run back, while she draws to enjoy a nice time of it from barrier 5 with Jye McNeil to ride. 

Race 6 No.3- Shares


Shares can bounce back in Race 6. The four-year-old was a winner here three starts ago and has taken on harder races than this with his past two coming at Caulfield in Saturday meetings, battling into 6th in both of those. She was just a tad keen in the most recent of those when landing four lengths behind Lauberhorn. The daughter of Rich Enuff drops sharply in grade and gets the blinkers off, while she is proven on the surface. 

Race 7 No.6- Blondeau


Blondeau has been racing well of late and can pick up a win with any luck from the wide barrier. The veteran has landed in the runner-up slot at his past two, leading two starts ago before being run down. He settled back at his most recent start and closed off in steady fashion behind Savannnah Chill, who went 3.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner in this race. He meets that horse 2kg better at the weights and can break what is a bit of a drought.
