The Michael Hickmott-trained Rabtat is in career-best form this time in and boasting a solid track record here, looks in the mix for another win in this event.
Last start, the Adelaide gelding finished runner-up again when he beat all but home in a BM66, here over the 1600m trip.
Todd Pannell was aboard for his seventh ride on the five-year-old where he rode him a treat, doing his best work late and collecting the silver medal in the race.
He draws the outside gate (9) here and maps to cross and take a sit near mid-field with Pannell in the saddle again.
Five previous starts at the track and distance resulted in a win and four minor placings so he is a regular on the podium.
At his best on a dry track, the forecast Good 4 here will be ideal for him and with a clear run to the line, he should be there at the finish.
Race 8: No.7 Runaway Statement
Phillip Stokes saddles-up Runaway Statement here who has found the podium in all three starts this preparation and looks set for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Press Statement mare came off two minor placings on Victorian tracks when she made her Murray Bridge debut and easily accounted for a BM62 over 1400m.
Lachlan Neindorf was booked for the ride that day and after jumping from the carpark in gate 15 (of 16), he settled the mare mid-field and three-wide before finishing strongly to claim victory by 1.5 lengths on the line.
She draws gate ten (of 16) here and maps to settle in a similar spot with Neindorf steering the ship again.
Eight starts for two wins and four minor placings suggests she has a bright future and looks a serious contender in this contest.
Race 9: No.13 Tipsy Vixen
The Team Jolly-trained Tipsy Vixen is second-up here and stepping-up to a more suitable trip, looks in the mix at odds in this event.
Last start, the Foxwedge mare resumed off a lengthy 22-week break when she did well to grab third prize in a BM64 over an unsuitable 1200m on fresh legs at Morphettville.
From the outside gate (13), apprentice Alan Lai settled her last in the field before winding her up in the run home where she finished strongly to arrive in time and claim the minor prize for the race.
She draws barrier eight here and maps to settle a little closer to them, near mid-field with cover.
Lai retains the ride and with his 3kg claim, the mare carries less weight here as she steps-up to the 1400m which looks ideal, being at a winner at the trip previously.
Already a winner here (four starts back), and fitter for that first-up run, she lines-up here as good value and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
