Race 3 No.8- Champagne Jenni

This looks to be the one for Champagne Jenni to chalk up her first career win. The promising filly relished the step up to the 1700m at the Warrnambool carnival when running on to fill the exacta behind Factcheck. She was well supported in the market that day and clocked the fastest last 200m to finish within half a length of the winner. Form out of that has held up with the 5th placegetter coming out and winning his Maiden by five lengths at Mornington. Step to the 2100m looks like it will suit and she will be strong late.

Race 6 No.8- Artpark

Artpark should find this easier than recent runs. The Paul Preusker mare was a dominant winner the last time he stepped out in BenchMark 58 company with that coming three starts ago. She then stuck on gamely after being posted wide at Flemington in a BenchMark 78 before heading to the ‘Bool and placing 6th behind Dubai Dancer in a BM70. The four-year-old drops in grade for this assignment and will settle off the speed from the draw but is capable of closing off strongly.

Race 8 No.5- Hydrogen Power

Hydrogen Power can be an improver in the final race of the day. The four-year-old was a winner earlier this preparation and closed off strongly over the 1600m at Ballarat two starts ago for 4th. He then jumped in trip to the 2000m and did a stack wrong when posted wide no cover before fading for 7th. Willing to forgive the son of The Autumn Sun for that effort and he just needs to settle a bit better this time around. Linda Meech might ride him quietly this time around, which seemed to work in the BenchMark 64 at Ballarat two starts ago. Look for him to be hard to hold out late in the piece.
