We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Hawkesbury racetrack.
Race 3: No.6 Veravino
The Damien Lane-trained Veravino has shown improvement in three starts this preparation and now looks ready to produce her best.
Last start, the I Am Invincible mare put in a bold performance when she beat all but one home in a Maiden Plate over 1200m at Wyong.
Drawn gate 10 (of 11), Anna Roper pushed forward and settled the mare outside the leader and in the run home, the pair fought it out, with the leader (Reasonable) doing best on the line and prevailed to win.
Roper keeps the reins for this contest where the five-year-old draws gate seven and maps to settle on the speed again.
Fourth-up and at her peak today, she should prove hard to beat here.
Race 5: No.5 Zarizatycoon
Gayner Williams saddles-up Zarizatycoon here who is in top-shelf form this time in and is drawn for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Zariz gelding bounced back from an unplaced run at Orange when he easily accounted for a Class 2 Hcp over 1400m at Parkes.
Heavily backed that day (($1.95 into $1.65), he drew wide where Clay Gallagher settled him one pair back, one off the fence, then inside the final 200m, took control and went on to score by 1.5 lengths on the line.
This BM64 looks no harder where he draws well in gate three and maps to be just behind the speed on settling.
Mikayla Weir has steered the five-year-old to victory three times previously and returns for today’s assignment.
At his peak fourth-up here, he will take beating.
Race 7: No.3 Money Team
Locally-trained by Brad Widdup, Money Team is second-up here and looks the best of the day in this event.
Last start, the well-bred I Am Invincible gelding was having his first start for the Widdup stable and resuming off a lengthy 37-week break, was impressive when he broke through for his first win in a Maiden Plate over 1200m at Wyong.
With Zac Wadick aboard, he settled outside the leader and took control over the final 100m, going on to win by half a length on the line, which was a big effort after so long off the scene.
Wadick sticks with him here as draws gate five and maps to be on or near the speed on settling.
Placed second-up last campaign, a trouble free run here should see him hard to beat in this contest.
