Race 2: No.2 Kunis
The Kembla Grange-based galloper impressed on debut and is well placed here to frank that effort in this event.
Last start, the well-bred Capitalist filly made her racing debut and did it in style, taking out a Maiden Plate over 1000m on her home track.
On a Heavy 8 that day, Jean Van Overmeire settled her third but caught three-wide to the turn before tracking even wider on straightening, then finished strongly to claim victory by a length on the line.
Well drawn in gate four today, she maps to settle near the speed with Van Overmeire retaining the ride for this Class 1 assignment.
Suited to the wet conditions today, the three-year-old looks to have plenty of upside and will take beating in this contest.
Race 7: No.2 Murphilly
Kylie Gavenlock saddles-up Murphilly here who is third-up and ticks the boxes that put her right in contention for the major prize in this event.
Last start, the Churchill mare came off a first-up win at Hawkesbury when she finished fourth in a BM68 over 1600m at Newcastle.
Last out of the gates, she settled back in the field spotting the leader eight lengths on the turn and after being held up briefly, secured a gap and finished just behind the placegetters.
Dropping back in grade today, she meets BM64 company and draws barrier eight where she maps to settle back in the field with Grant Buckley steering the ship again.
After four starts at the track and distance, she has finished on the podium three times and enjoyed success on wet tracks as well.
Already a winner when third-up, the four-year-old should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
Race 8: No.7 Miss Farnan
Yet to miss a podium finish in four starts, the Waterhouse & Bott-trained galloper is high-flying after three starts this preparation and looks ideally placed to make her Gosford debut a winning one.
Last start, the Farnan filly came off a Class 1 win at Hawkesbury when she stepped-up to BM64 company and did well to beat all but one home over 1200m at Wyong.
Rachel King had her leading the way on settling, then in the run home, fought on gamely but was beaten by one better on the day.
From gate five today, she maps to settle just behind the speed with regular stable rider Regan Bayliss aboard for the first time.
Boasting strong efforts on wet tracks, conditions here look ideal for her and after three runs back, the three-year-old will be at her peak today and take beating in this contest.
