Dubbo Racing Tips for September 27 - Crusader Kings can remain unbeaten at the track

Race 5: No.5 Questionable
The Rod Northam-trained galloper is in great touch this time in and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Stratum Star mare scored her second career win when she took out a BM58, here over 2200m.
Jumping from gate 11 (of 13), Clayton Gallagher settled her three pairs back, one off the fence, before making her move nearing the corner, then on straightening found the front and running home strongly, held all the challenges at bay to cross the line almost two lengths clear in the end.
Meeting similar company here over the same trip, she carries just 2kgs more and after riding the runner-up behind Questionable last start, Kody Nestor has the ride for today’s assignment.
Drawn much better in gate five, the mare maps to settle just behind the speed and now a track and distance winner, the five-year-old should take beating in this contest.
Race 7: No.5 Marvel Man
Cameron Crockett saddles-up Marvel Man here who is third-up and should be ready to fire in this event.
Last start, the Stratum Star gelding showed plenty of improvement off his first-up effort when he finished third in a BM82 over 1200m at Forbes.
From the outside gate (10), Jacob Stiff pushed forward and showing solid early speed, the gelding settled second, outside the leader to the turn, then on straightening, took control before all his early work took its toll and he was beaten home by two swoopers in the race.
Clearly the gate beat him that day and here he draws much better in gate five where he maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Chad Lever back for his fifth ride on the gelding.
Fitter for those two runs back and already a winner when third-up, the winkers come off today and with a trouble-free run, he looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.
Race 8: No.5 Crusader Kings
The Mark Jones-trained galloper is two starts into this campaign and ticks the right boxes here to suggest he can take out this event.
Last start, the Dissident gelding came off a first-up win when he stepped-up in grade and distance to finish fourth in a BM85 over 1300m at Bathurst.
Kody Nestor had him settled fourth (one out, one back) to the turn before coming off heels and in the run home, fought on gamely but found that last 100m too testing and had to settle for fourth prize in the end.
Dropping back to the 1100m trip today, he draws out in gate 10 and maps to cross and settle mid-field or better with Jean Van Overmeire as the new pilot for this assignment.
Already a winner when third-up and unbeaten in two starts at Dubbo, the six-year-old looks the testing material in this contest.
Race 9: No.2 Stay Silent
The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper comes off a bag-full of metropolitan racing and looks a serious player in this year’s Gold Cup.
Last start, the Deep Field gelding came off a hat-trick of victories in Melbourne where he then finished fifth in a BM84 over 1600m on the Hillside circuit at Sandown.
Retaining the ride after steering him to those three wins, Jabez Johnstone had him up front and leading the pack to the turn, then in the run home he fought on gamely but couldn’t hold off the challenges, finishing 2.5 lengths behind the first four past the post.
Jacob Stiff is the new pilot for this event where he draws gate 11 and maps to push forward and settle in the first half-dozen.
Dropping back to the country scene today, the five-year-old should find this assignment a little easier as the stable fit the blinkers for the first time and with a little luck in running, he looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
