We have the best bets picked out from across the day with value selections for Cranbourne Racecourse.
Cranbourne Race 4 No. 2- Overactive
Overactive shapes as a major player in Race 4 at Cranbourne. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper was a tad unlucky when resuming at Geelong over the 1200m, filling the exacta behind Barber. He then raced at Flemington on Stakes day and finished 8th behind Rey Magnerio in a Listed race. The imported galloper sticks to the shorter trips and has been producing excellent figures of late, while this is a sizeable drop in class. Ben Melham rides and the pair draw perfectly in barrier 5.
Cranbourne Race 5 No. 2- Lazy Susan
Lazy Susan can bounce back in Race 5. The locally trained galloper was excellent in her first two runs earlier this spring over the 1000m when runner-up behind Isthmus before scoring at Moonee Valley. She then tackled the 1100m at Listed level and tired after a tough run out wide behind Niance. Her record over the 1000m is much better and she was a winner at her only go at the track and trip, while she draws perfectly in barrier 2. The daughter of Capitalist comes in with five-weeks in between runs and has performed well off similar breaks in the past.
Cranbourne Race 6 No. 7 Savoir Faire
Savoir Faire can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw him finish runner-up in the Donald Cup (1620m) last weekend. The five-year-old is on the short back-up and stuck on well behind Chartres at what was just the second run of hsi current preparation. A firmer in the early betting for this race, the Mark Walker-trained galloper was a notable improver at the third run of his last preparation when winning over the 2000m at Caulfield. He should be suited by the speed in this race, while he gets the steer from Damian Lane.
