Cranbourne Racing Tips for June 21 – Early market support suggests Madesian is value in Race 7
- Blue Shield is the standout pick for Race 3, thriving in Soft/Heavy going.
- Golden Spritz is primed for a strong run third-up in Race 6 with a claiming apprentice.
- Madesian looks strongest for Race 7 after a big performance last start and better track conditions.
Cranbourne racing takes place on Sunday, June 21, with a program set down for Cranbourne.
Here are our best bets from the meeting, which also feature in our daily selections.
Race 3 No.2- Blue Shield
Blue Shield is a clear top pick in Race 3. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper has placed in all three of his career starts and narrowly missed out on a Heavy track at Mornington last time when filling the exacta behind Upolu. He led and just went down late, putting a big gap on the rest of them, while he was runner-up behind Paddypie prior to that at Seymour. The son of Blue Point will get a Soft lead in this race from barrier 2 and will thrive in the Soft to Heavy going.
Race 6 No.2- Golden Spritz
Golden Spritz should be hard to beat in Race 6. The four-year-old has had the two runs this time in for a runner-up behind Quebeck in a small field when resuming at Cranbourne over the 1200m before a last start 5th at Bendigo behind Clevor Trever. He was just a tad keen early on in a race where the form since then has been strong. The Julius Saandhu-trained galloper took a couple of runs to get going at his debut prep and should be ready third up with they 3kg claimer, Caitlin Hollowood ro ride. She is one from one for the stable and will play the stalking role from barrier 3.
Race 7 No.7- Madesian
Madesian is a major player in Race 7. The Busuttin/Young galloper appreciated the step to the distance at his most recent start when sticking on well for 3rd behind Breathless Spirit. He has had two runs over the 2000m for a win and a placing and will strip fitter from his recent run when he improved 12 lengths on benchmark figures to go a length faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any horse in this race. The only query is his form at his start prior, which came on a Heavy track but fine conditions have been forecast for Sunday and the son of Justify has been well supported in the betting.
