Race 2: No.4 Be Bardot
The Team Williams-trained galloper is third-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest she can bounce back in this event.
Last start, the Toronado mare came off a big first-up win at Belmont (scoring by three lengths) when she lined-up in a BM66 and was disappointing, finishing unplaced in the 1400m event on this track.
Lucy Fiore was in the saddle that day and after drawing wide (in gate 9 of 11), she settled back in the field and whilst running home well, failed to make an impression , beat just three home in the race.
Meeting similar company here, the five-year-old steps-up to the mile trip where she is already a winner and welcomes back regular rider William Pike who has been on board for all four career wins to date.
Drawn nicely in gate four, she maps to settle mid-field or better here and fitter for two runs back, is also a winner at the track and distance.
Already a success when third-up, a trouble-free run here should see her fighting out the finish in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Kay Tee Why
The Adam Durrant-trained galloper is unbeaten in two starts this time in and looks primed to bring-up the hat-trick in this event.
Last start, the Nicconi gelding kept the winning form going when he beat home a BM72 field, here over the 1000m sprint.
William Pike settled him back in the field before scouting wide on the turn and finishing best to claim victory by a length on the line.
Stepping up to BM78 level here, he draws the outside gate (10) but will settle back in his usual role and take the sit.
Unbeaten in three starts over the 1000m on this track and a winner when third-up, he looks picks of the crop today and will take beating in this contest.
Race 8: No.11 Playin’it Sweet
Unbeaten this time in, the Adam Durrant-trained galloper steps-up in grade here but looks well placed to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Playing God filly came off a first-up win at Belmont when she franked that effort by beating home a BM66 field, here over 1200m with Lucy Fiore in the saddle.
She drew the car park in gate 13 (of 16) and settled mid-field, three-wide to the turn before tracking even wider where she gained momentum and finished too strong in the end.
Better drawn here in gate six, the three-year-old maps to settle better than mid-field with cover and looking for her fifth win on the filly, Fiore steers the ship again.
Coming in on the limit with just 55kgs to carry, a clear run to the line should see her fighting out the finish of this contest.
