Tamworth racing takes place on Friday, July 19, with an 8-race program set down for the Tamworth track.

Race 2: No.4 On The Charge
Race 4: No.7 Outback Ringer
Race 7: No.4 No More Romance
Race 8: No.8 Keitany

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for the Grafton racecourse.

Race 2: No.4 On The Charge

Locally-trained by Cody Morgan, On The Charge has finished on the podium at his first two race-starts and with a gear change here, looks set to go one better in this event.

Last start, the Charge Forward gelding resumed off a six-month absence and impressed when he beat all but one home in a Maiden Plate, here over 1000m.

With Aaron Bullock aboard, he sat outside the leader to the turn, then took over on straightening but found one better in the run home.

He draws gate six here and welcomes Robbie Downey as the new pilot for this assignment.

Morgan slips the tongue tie on him for the first time and fitter for that first-up effort, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.

Race 4: No.7 Outback Ringer

Brett Cavanough saddles-up Outback Ringer here who is second-up and looks set for back-to-back victories here.

Last start, the Outreach gelding had his first run for the Cavanough stable (after transferring from the Cody Morgan camp), and showing no signs of fatigue, clobbered his rivals in a BM64 over the 900m sprint at Scone.

On a Heavy 10 that day, Braith Nock rode him a treat, settling him inside the leader to the turn.

The leader then drifted out towards the outside fence, leaving Nock with a saloon passage to the line, which he took, and went on to win by 1.5 lengths on the line.

Ben Looker partners the four-year-old here who is already a winner when second-up and boasts two wins and a runner-up finish from three starts at the track and distance as well.

He gets the gun-run from gate one here and looks the one to beat again.

Race 7: No.4 No More Romance

Another from the Cody Morgan stable is No More Romance who is four starts into his racing career and looks set to give this event a real shake.

Last start, the More Than Ready gelding came off a third-up maiden win on this track when he faced a Class 1 Hcp and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in the 14-strong field.

He drew the carpark that day in gate 12 (of 14) and settled mid-field before Aaron Bullock eased him out to the middle of the track where he ran home well enough to grab the minor prize.

Robbie Downey has the reins for this assignment where the three-year-old draws mush better in gate three and maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.

Just four starts behind him, he has shown that he knows what its all about and he can certainly figure in the finish in this contest.

Race 8: No.8 Keitany

Newcastle galloper, Keitany is second-up here and ticks all the boxes that suggest she will take a ton of beating in this event.

Last start, the Toronado mare resumed off a 17-week spell and impressed when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Gunnedah.

Well ridden by Chelsea Hillier, she sat just behind the speed to the turn then eased off the fence, took control but was grabbed by a swooper in the final stages, leaving her with the silver medal in the race.

Ash Morgan rode her to victory three starts back, here in a 1000m Maiden and returns to steer the ship for this assignment.

She is already a winner at the track and distance and a winner when second-up as well.

The stable fit winkers for the first time and fitter for one run back, she looks right in the mix here.
