ENNA’S DREAM shapes as a major player in Race 2.
The Alex Rae-trained galloper has finished 3rd in her two runs this time in and was a real eye-catcher first up at Caulfield over the 1100m.
She then raced just a tad keenly at Sandown on May 25 when stepping up to the 1400m behind Miss Aria. She just needs to relax a bit better early on.
The daughter of Winning Rupert was strong when taking out a solid form race at this stage of her last preparation at the track and trip ahead of Subrising and should just about be at her peak third up for this assignment.
Race 4 No. 5 Batrana
Nice return by BATRANA at Caulfield on June 1 and the Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper can go a couple of spots better after running 3rd behind British Angel.
That came over the 1100m and they ran quick time.
She was held up from the turn until the 200m before running on strongly, slightly peaking over the last 50m.
The daughter of Justify has won two of her six career starts and didn’t look out of place in city grade at her last preparation before winning by a big margin at Ballarat.
She draws barrier 5 for this assignment.
Race 9 No. 16 Cadmus
CADMUS looks well placed in the final race of the day at Sandown.
The promising galloper from the Anthony & Sam Freedman stable was a winner at Caulfield two starts ago before heading to Flemington and placing 4th over the 1800m behind Amberite.
He was posted wide and without cover throughout in that race and did well to finish as close as he did.
The lightly raced five-year-old draws in a tricky spot for this assignment but should enjoy enough tempo in the race with the Iikes of Dashing, Smokin’ Romans and Pudding to go forward.
He gets in on the minimum weight and might have a bit of upside on some of these.
