Bairnsdale Racing Tips for October 12 – Ninyo to thrive in the going at Bairnsdale

Ninyo is worth thought in race five, particularly if the forecast rain arrives. The eight-year-old saves her best for soft or rain-affected tracks and was a winner at Sandown on heavy going four starts ago. She has since been taken on in much harder races in town and has been outclassed. This grade suits much better, and she was never really in the hunt last time in Benchmark 74 company after being slowly away and finishing ninth. She gets back up in trip and drops dramatically in grade, with the added benefit of a 3kg claim for her apprentice rider. With conditions to suit, she can be much more competitive.

Luminary Miss can just about make it back-to-back wins when she steps out in race seven. The four-year-old had a few excuses at her first two runs, which came at Wodonga, before tackling the 1200m at Bairnsdale last month and settling just off the speed before launching with the fastest final 400m and 200m to reel in Prestige. There was a decent gap back to the third horse. The Dom Sutton-trained mare went 3.7 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is three lengths better than the next-best last-start figure of any runner in this race. This is not a huge step up in grade, and she draws barrier four. She should be right at her peak after three runs and can produce a carbon-copy performance, settling within striking distance before launching late. Dylan Dunn stays on board and is one from one for the stable. Stick with her.
