Race 4: No. 2 Red Resistance
A one time Golden Slipper fancy who won his first two starts by a combined 2+ lengths at Rosehill who we last saw this time last year.
The Waterhouse and Boat trained colt finished within a length of Cylinder at Group 2 level last autumn and both trials leading into this event have been very good.
He’s better than this grade in my opinion and should he return at something near his best he will be tough to beat.
Race 5: No. 1 Shangri La Express
This is a brilliant edition of the Todman Stakes for the juveniles and it will sort the boys out from the men.
This colt won his first two starts impressively in Sydney and found one better in Switzerland first up who had a fitness edge.
He had every right to fold late in that race but I loved the way he picked up again and found the line aggressively.
Fitter second up and will land on the speed from barrier two.
Race 7: No. 1 Think About It
The 2023 Everest winner returns to the track and the stable has decided 1300m is the step off point this prep which is his ideal trip in my opinion.
The son of So You Think has amassed over $11 million prize money and won 11 of 13 career race starts.
He has a tricky barrier to overcome but he’s proved he is very versatile and should have a couple of lengths on Espiona heading around the bend who will be storming late.
Race 8: No. 3 Celestial Legend
A very progressive grey colt who produced a career best performance to win the Group 2 Hobartville by two lengths beating Encap.
The step up in distance is ideal for the son of Dundeel and although he’ll need to take another step forward, he looks a classy colt.
Will need a good steer from Kerrin McEvoy was barrier 11.
