Race 6: No.2 Declared
The Jolly & Potter training team saddles-up Declared here who has impressed after three starts back and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he will be hard to beat in this event.
Last start, the Churchill gelding was third-up when he beat all but one home in a BM0-72 Hcp over 1100m at Murray Bridge.
Brooke King settled him mid-field in the 16-strong event before working into the race on straightening where he finished strongly, claiming second prize, beaten a neck on the line.
He gets the gun-run from gate one here and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with King backing-up for the ride as well.
At his peak here, the six-year-old looks a serious chance in this contest and well worth an each-way ticket.
Race 8: No.9 Thunder Shoc
The Will Clarken-trained galloper is in top-shelf form this time in and should take beating in this event.
Last start, the American-sired mare made it five-straight podium finishes when she finished third in the Listed Manihi Classic, here over 1100m.
From gate seven, Lucy Fiore settled her last in the field to the turn before tracking wide and spotting them too much start, couldn’t bridge the gap but did finish off strongly, arriving in time to claim the minor prize in the race.
Stepping-up to the 1200m here, she gets her chance to atone and from gate seven, maps to settle back again with Kayla Crowther returning for the ride in this assignment.
Three starts at the track & trip have resulted in two wins and a runner finish and in such good form this preparation, she looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 9: No.6 Silvasista
Team McEvoy saddle-up Silvasista here who is high-flying after two starts back and making her Morphettville debut, looks a winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Toronado filly came off her first-up maiden win at Wangaratta when she did well to beat all but one home in the Platinum Guineas at set weights over 1600m at Caulfield.
Unwanted in the market ($41), Harry Coffey settled her mid-field from gate five and while no match for the Ciaron Maher-trained Salty Pearl, she still put 1.5 lengths between herself and the remainder of the field as they crossed the line.
Drawn well in gate six here, she maps to go forward and settle in the first half-dozen with Rochelle Milnes steering the ship and fitter for those two runs back, the three-year-old can figure in the finish of this contest.
