Race 1: No.5 Ramp It Up
The Lindsay Gough-trained galloper has found his mojo this time in and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Love Conquers All entire was fourth-up and found his best form to beat home a Class 5 field, here over 1630m with Micheal Rodd in the saddle.
Settling mid-field early, he peeled off heels on the turn and as the widest runner on straightening, reeled in the leader and went on to score a soft win by just over a length on the line.
From gate seven, he maps to settle just behind the speed with Rodd retaining the ride.
This looks no harder and with a trouble-free run, he can get the job done in this contest.
Race 4: No.12 Star Rapper
The Team Geran-trained galloper is third-up here and looks set to go one better in this event.
Last start, the Zoustar gelding was second-up and showed improvement when he beat all but one home in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1110m.
Jake Bayliss settled second on the leader’s heels to the turn, then came off the fence and while unable to bridge the gap, never stopped chasing, securing the silver medal for the race.
Drawn nicely in gate three here, he maps to settle in the first three or four with Bayliss at the helm again and with even fitter for two runs back now, he looks a winning chance in this contest.
Race 8: No.5 Zondee
Robert Heathcote saddles-up Zondee here who is third-up and now should be ready to produce his best in this event.
Last start, the Snitzel gelding was second-up and finished on the podium when he claimed third prize in a Class 6 Hcp over 1200m at Eagle Farm.
Vlad Duric settled him mid-field early before angling for an inside passage in the run home where he chased them hard all the way to the line, securing the minor prize on the post.
From barrier eight, he maps to cross and settle near mid-field with cover and has Michael Rodd as the new pilot for this assignment.
Already a winner when third-up, the step-up to the 1350m looks ideal for him now and he should prove hard to beat in this contest.
