Moonee Valley Racing Tips for September 6- Unbeaten filly to overcome the wide barrier in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes

Going with one at a massive price in Race 2 and it is The Marg Factor that is worth a sneaky each-way play. The eight-year-old can be a tad erratic and has raced too keenly at her past couple of starts when finishing out of the placings at Sandown. She was a winner at Cranbourne three starts ago. The Peter Gelagotis mare will lead and might be able to dictate the terms here with not much pace inside of her. She has had five runs this time in and was a dominant three-length winner at the track and trip when deep into her previous preparation when leading all the way, going a very handy 10.2 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is a better figure than what any horse in this race has produced. She drops 2.5kg on her most recent run with Hannah Edgley to take the claim. She strikes at 25% for the stable, providing a 147% profit on turnover. 

Keen on Ole Dancer in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes over the 1200m for the three-year-old fillies. The Moody/Coleman galloper is unbeaten in her two career starts, dominating her rivals on debut in South Australia in the $200,000 Magic Millions SA Classic (1100m). She resumed at Caulfield recently over the 1200m and navigated the traffic before switching off heels with 200m to go and taking over to defeat Thanks Gorgeous. Form from that race has held up. She draws wide and will get back, which isn’t always ideal at the Valley but the tempo looks solid here and she does have a blistering finish. A firmer in the betting, the daughter of Ole Kirk will be hard to hold out at the business end. 

Alabama Lass is the one to beat in the Group 1 Moir Stakes. The Kiwi mare comes across with an impressive record and draws barrier 3 to secure the gun run. She’s already proven she can handle Australian conditions with a Listed Flemington 1100m win, going a healthy 10.6 lengths faster down the straight. It is a different set of circumstances at the Valley but that experience should hold the daughter of Alabama Express in good stead, while her tactical speed means Craig Williams can either press forward or take a sit behind the leaders. She has been backed into favouritism since the barrier draw and I suspect the money trail and impressed in a slick Te Rapa trial recently.
