We have the best bets picked out from across the day with value selections for Sandown Racecourse.
Sandown Race 1 No. 13- Too Darn Discreet
Too Darn Discreet should be hard to beat in the opener. The Dan O’Sullivan-trained galloper has been competitive in harder races than this in her career and resumed with a 7th at Moonee Valley over the 1200m in Saturday grade back on August 24. She was no match for some handy types and will find this easier. At her second run last time, the daugther of Too Darn Hot was excellent when 4th behind Tropicus at Caulfield, producing the fastest last 600m of the entire meeting. That form looks good for this and with improvement to come off her first up effort, she can get the job done.
Sandown Race 3 No. 2- Hello World
Hello World can go one spot better better than a first up effort that saw him finish runner-up at Caulfield behind Beast Mode on August 17. That came in harder company than this and he settled just forward of midfield before working home to fill the exacta. The Team Hawkes-trained galloper went a healthy 6.2 lenghts faster than standard benchmark, which is well above the class average for this race. He comes into this second up and was a 5.5 length improver at this stage last time when going from a Mornington Maiden win to a victory in a BenchMark 64 at Moonee Valley. Jordan Childs rides and the pair draw perfectly in barrier 4.
Sandown Race 7 No. 15- Sunset Dreaming
Sunset Dreaming has been close up at his three runs this time in and can finally break through when he steps out in Race 7. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper gets out to the 1400m and was doing his best work late at Sandown over the 1300m last time when runner-up behind Eye Of The Eagle. He left his run a fraction late that day. The extra 100m suits and pace looks genuine in the big field with a number of these to go forward, which will set things up nicely for him.
