The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper comes into this third-up, and his best performances have generally come once getting to 2000m and beyond. After drawing poorly at his past two starts, the son of New Bay should save a stack of ground from the inside barrier this time around and gets the blinkers on for the first time.

Thaimor shapes as a major player in Race 7. The five-year-old comes into this second-up after resuming on a Heavy 10 at Warrnambool on August 20 over 1100m in Benchmark 62 company, finishing fifth behind Cinnamon Kiss. She was checked at a crucial stage and may have finished closer with a clear passage. The Simon Ryan-trained galloper went two lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last-start figure of any runner in this race, and she now drops back to BM56 company. She improved with racing last preparation, picking up a win when third-up, while she shouldn't have to work too hard early to find a spot among the first few, which is where she tends to produce her best racing.
