Geelong Racing Tips for December 13 - Promising stayer from the Payne stable to strike early at Geelong

Now in the hands of Patrick & Michelle Payne, the four-year-old seemed to relish the step up to the 1600m at Donald to the 2040m at Moonee Valley, improving 13 lengths on benchmark figures when 3rd behind Actaeon. Stable have a good record with their young stayers and the son of Embellish gets further out in trip. He looks ready. 

Market just before the jump will be a solid lead and if the money comes I suspect Porsha Crystal should be hard to beat in Race 2 of the day. The Mark and Levi Kavanagh-trained galloper resumes from a spell and went close on debut when runner-up at Bendigo over the 1000m before tackling a Saturday race and placing 11th behind Manolo Bling. She wasn't disgraced in that race and was held up at the 400m. This looks a suitable assignment for her to kick off and with any maturity since her two runs she should be hard to beat. 

Ledecky’s Dream is worth thought in the final race of the day. The five-year-old has scope for improvement up in trip to the 1343m from the 1100m at Wodonga and been making up ground in all three of her runs this time in. She was back in a race that was run at a crawl last time, making some late ground for 8th. Pace looks better in this race and she is racing like she wants the trip, while she was a winner at a similar stage of her last preparation.
