Flemington racing takes place on Saturday, April 25, with a program set down for Flemington.

Here are our best bets from the meeting, which complements a huge day of racing in Adelaide with the Robert Sangster Stakes and Australasian Oaks to be run at Morphettville.

Race 1 No.7- Samuel Langhorne

Samuel Langhorne can be an improver when he steps out in the opener at Flemington on ANZAC Day. The six-year-old has had the three runs this time in and worked home well over the 2600m at Morphettville back in February before tackling the 3200m of the Adelaide Cup and fading badly to finish 12th. They went hard in that race and he made plenty of ground from the 1000m to the 600m before not staying the trip, while he may not have had the miles in his legs at that stage. Drop back to 2500m suits much better and he has performed well at Flemington in the past. At this stage of his last preparation he went 13 lengths faster than standard benchmark to place 3rd in the Banjo Patterson Series Final (2500m), while he is a previous track and trip winner. Back to BenchMark 84 and from barrier 2, he represents a bit of value to kickstart the day.

Race 5 No.3- Athanatos

Slight concern with the win strike rate (three from 21 starts) but Atahanatos does look to have a bit of a class edge in Race 5. The four-year-old comes into this third up after placing for the 14th time in his career at his most recent start, with that coming in Group 3 company behind Hughes at Caulfield. The four-year-old was luckless prior to that when resuming with a 3rd. At this stage of his last campaign he placed behind Evaporate and Transatlantic in he Sandown Stakes (1500m) before runnin 4th at Group 1 level behind that pair and Leica Lucy. The son of I Am Immortal went 10.6 lengths faster than standard benchmark at his most recent run, which is the best last start figure of any runner, while he will land in a perfect stalking position from barrier 5.

Race 7 No.7- Berkshire Breeze

Berkshire Breeze can go close at the each-way quote in Race 7. The seven-year-old has not won in nearly two years but has performed well in mucb harder company than this since then. He comes in with just the one run under the belt, placing 7th in a strongly run affair over the 1600m behind Al Duca at Flemington on March 28, going 14 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the second best last start figure of any horse in this race. At the second run of his spring campaign, the Ciaron Maher-trained galloper was a nine-length improver on figures when going from a 6th in the Heatherlie Handicap (1700m) at Caulfield to a runner-up over the 2000m behind the subsequent Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winner, Half Yours, in the Naturalism Stakes (2000m). He is noted more as a 2500m horse but form over the mile and a quarter is excellent, while he will appreciate the likelihood of a Good track.
