Warrnambool Race 3 No.3- Blazing Guru


Looking for improvement from Blazing Guru in Race 3. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper has had just the one run this time in, improving on her debut at Ararat earlier this year by running 5th over the 1400m at Warrnambool. She settled on the speed on the Heavy track and just lacked the dash late in the piece at her first run since February. The five-year-old went 4.6 lengths slower than standard, which is nearly four lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. She draws barrier 2 for this and will strip fitter. Teo Nugent rides and strikes at 21% for the stable, providing a 27% profit on turnover for punters. 

Warrnambool Race 4 No. 8- Cherish The Day


Cherish The Day should be hard to beat in Race 4 at Warrnambool. The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper has had the two career starts for a 3rd on debut at Geelong before heading to the ‘Bool on September 12 and placing 3rd behind Madame Maserati. She was keen early on then held up from the 250m to the 100m before running on late. Form out of both of those races has been good and she went 1.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark last time, which is four lengths better than what any runner has produced in their career to date. She draws perfectly in barrier 3 and will be ridden by Linda Meech. 

Warrnambool Race 6 No. 4 Per Ivy


This might depend on when and if the forecast rain arrives. Track is rated a Soft 5 at the time of writing and anything worse will see Per Ivy come into play. She is two from two on the Heavy and has landed top three in five of nine on Soft. The six-year-old was a winner three starts ago at Moe on a Heavy and has had two runs at Bairnsdale off an eight-week break, landing an unlucky 6th at the most recent of those, beaten less than two lengths. She gets the blinkers for the first time and will look to land with cover from barrier 9. This is a weak race and within her grasp, particularly if conditions suit.
