Flemington
Race 1 12:20pm CARBINE CLUB STAKES Tips
We’re a fan of Fangirl, who scored a tough win at Randwick last start. It followed an impressive win at Goulburn, and she looks to be heading towards much bigger races later in the Melbourne Spring Carnival. She has been best-backed to win, which adds confidence.
Brigantine and Prix de Turn are also attracting money, so keep them safe.
Race 4 2:20pm LINLITHGOW STAKES Tips
Oxley Road was strong to the line when winning at Caulfield last start, and the four-year-old could kick on with the job. It was his third win from six starts, and he owns a win and a placing from three starts at Flemington. Carrying 53kg is ideal, so we’re not surprised by the weight of money coming for him.
Instant Celebrity could be worth a play at double-figure odds. She hasn’t had much luck of late, and that could change here.
Race 9 5:50pm FURPHY SPRINT Tips
We loved the way Minhaaj won last start, and the four-year-old mare could go on with it. She scored her fourth win from 10 starts, and she has finished in the money in three of her four starts at Flemington. Punters get value odds worth taking.
There has also been solid support for September Run to return to form. We wouldn’t be leaving her out.
Rosehill
Race 1 12:40pm THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE Tips
Katalin is a fresh-up specialist with two wins from two attempts. She hits the line running, and we thought she might push into an odds-on quote on Saturday. The James Cummings-trained mare handles all conditions, and we’re happy to take the value available.
Race 2 1:20pm FUJITSU GENERAL BM78 Tips
Four-year-old gelding Mightybeel could continue his winning ways on Saturday. The son of Savabeel scored at his only attempt at Rosehill, and despite carrying a big weight here, he has class on his side. Hugh Bowman rides and he looks the best bet of the Waller-trained runners.
Stablemate Solar Apex has been specked, so he is worth including as a quinella option.
Eagle Farm
Race 3 1:30pm MOET & CHANDON HANDICAP Tips
Mishani Warfare is knocking on the door after consecutive second placings, and he should be tough to beat here. The son of The Mission has attracted plenty of attention throughout the week, so that is a good sign for punters.
His stablemate Mishani Persuasion has also been well-backed, so the stable could score the quinella.
Race 8 4:58pm NOVA BM75 Tips
Montez runs at each-way odds on Saturday and punters should appreciate the price. He is always around the mark, with six wins and eight placings from 27 starts. There is little wrong with that form, and getting a 2kg claimer in the saddle helps.
Morphettville
Race 4 3:15pm THE JUNCTION BM60 Tips
Will Clarken lines up the four-year-old gelding who only owns one win from 13 starts, but he has faced some tough fields throughout his career. The former John O’Shea-trained runner has looked good at the trials, and there has been a stack of money come throughout the week. He opened at $2.50 and is now $2, which is a serious move.
Race 7 4:42pm QUBE LOGISTICS BM86 Tips
There has been a lot of money for Rock the Ring after scoring back-to-back wins. The McEvoy-trained four-year-old is a five-time winner from 15 starts, including two from two at Morphettville. His most recent win came by 2.8 lengths, and it was dominant.
He loves a good racing surface and it looks like conditions will suit.
Ascot
Race 5 4:54pm CROWN PERTH 1MW Tips
Lindsay Smith lines up the four-year-old gelding, who owns two wins and two second placings from four starts. He is a son of Playing God, who finished second at Northam last time out behind Excelestial. That was a tidy effort, and getting William Pike in the saddle only adds to his chances.
Carrying 55.5kg on his back is ideal, and most of the money has come for him.
