Moonee Valley racing takes place on Saturday, March 23, with the 10-race program on William Reid Stakes Day.

Race 1: No. 1 Marquess
Has been a touch disappointing in both starts so far this campaign and gets his opportunity with a change of scenery in Melbourne.
The son of Tavistock has five wins from 13 career starts and will appreciate the step up in distance at this stage of his prep.
He ran into soft tracks at both runs and will appreciate the firmer surface on Saturday.
Race 5: No. 2 Wishlor Lass
A lightly raced five-year-old mare with a great winning record of six wins from just the 10 career race starts.
One of those defeats came first up in the Group 3 Tressady Stakes at Flemington over 1400m and while she was a bit flat, worked to the line well to be beaten just over a length.
She’ll take plenty of benefit out of that run and the step up to a mile will suit.
Race 6: No. 4 Mollynickers
Has placed both times this campaign including being beaten half a length behind Autumn Angel at Group 2 level last time out and she is a very promising filly.
She will be nearing peak fitness now at her third run and I’d love to see Ben Melham settle the filly a little closer to the speed from barrier six.
A rock hard track is a concern but she has a class edge on the majority of this field on exposed form.
Race 8: No. 5 Imperatriz
Put in arguably her greatest performance in the Newmarket despite not winning, considering she was attempting to carry an enormous weight and was only beaten in the dying stages by a colt carrying no weight.
The champion sprinter has won nine times at the top level and if she holds her form, or improves, I’m struggling to see how they beat her with the massive weight swing at weight-for-age.
