Wyong racing takes place on Wednesday, March 12 with an 8-race program set down for Wyong racetrack.

Race 3: No.4 Kerala
Race 5: No.7 Kenmare Bay
Race 6: No.2 Prince Of Sorts

Race 3: No.4 Kerala

Locally-trained by Kim Waugh, Kerala has improved after two race starts to date and looks well placed here to stake a claim at great odds in this event.

Last start, the Pariah filly showed a ton of improvement off her debut effort when she she beat all but one home, here in a 1200m Maiden Hcp.

With Jay Ford in the saddle, she settled near mid-field then came wide on the turn and finished strongly, arriving in time to claim the silver medal in the race.

Nicely drawn in gate 4 here, she maps to settle near mid-field again with Ford steering the ship for this assignment.

Fitter for two runs now, clean air is all she needs here to be there at the finish and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 5: No.7 Kenmare Bay

The O’Shea & Charlton-trained galloper is second-up here and ticks enough boxes to suggest he will be hard to beat in this event.

Last start, the British-sired gelding resumed off a four-month break and was impressive when finishing strongly to finish runner-up in a Class 1, here over 1350m.

With Tom Sherry aboard, he settled mid-field and was three-wide on straightening before hitting the line well to grab second prize in the event.

Drawn gate four here, Sheery sticks with him where he maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.

Fitter for that first-up run and down in weight here, the three-year-old only needs a clear run to the line to be considered a serious contender for the main prize.

Race 6: No.2 Prince Of Sorts

Local trainer Allan Kehoe saddles-up Prince Of Sorts here who is second-up and ticks all the important boxes that point to a strong performance in this event.

Last start, the Tassort gelding came off a nine-week break and lined-up in the Class 5 Country Championships Qualifier at Newcastle but was never in it, finishing down the track with regular rider Olivia Chambers in the saddle.

He draws well in gate six here and maps to cross and settle in the first half-dozen with Chambers steering the ship again.

Already a winner when second-up and Chambers boasting four top-two finishes with him from five rides to date, a trouble-free run here should see him there at the finish.
