Willing to roll the dice on Cool As Ice in the opener at Warrnambool. The Maddie Raymond-trained galloper is on the third line of betting behind the two debutants but has the benefit of race experience, while she comes out of some solid form races. The five-year-old led over the 1100m on debut at Warrnambool on a Heavy deck before going down late behind Little Sandy then was 4th at Terang in a race that has produced a few winners, including Alcoshare. She ran sharp time in a recent jumpout at Terang and might take some catching.
Warrnambool Race 6 No.8- Riverina Power
Keen on Riverina Power in Race 6. The Tom Dabernig mare has had two runs this time in for a 9th when resuming at Ballarat in Saturday grade, beaten less than three lengths, before a last start 6th at Pakenham over the 1400m. She was more than four lengths off Modown at the business end but has been a noted improver at this stage of her past preparations. The daughter of American Pharoah is unbeaten third up and at her last campaign, she improved more than nine lengths on benchmark figures to score at Flemington. Expect her to be right in the thick of it here.
Warrnambool Race 7 No. 7- Thunder Point
Happy to be with Thunder Point in his quest to turn the tables on Unseen Ruler. That pair met at the New Year’s Eve meeting at the ‘Bool in the Woodford Cup and Thunder Point was wide no cover before hitting the front a long way out and being run down in the final 100m to go down by just under two lengths, finishing 3rd. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper should be at peak fitness now and is 2kg better at the weights on the winner.
