Luna Cat can go close in Race 6. The Hayes galloper has not won in just under a year but has been competitive in the city in her current preparation with four placings from five starts. She was held up in the straight over the 1100m at Caulfield two starts ago when just missing behind Winnasedge, putting a big gap on the rest. At her most recent start, she tackled the 1200m at Moonee Valley and was worse than midfield on a day when it was hard to make up ground. She was held up from the 400m to the 200m before motoring home for 3rd. She has the class to run a big race here and draws to enjoy the favours from barrier 4. 

The Terang Cup assembles a handy field of gallopers together over the 2150m and it is Ziryab that should be hard to beat. The five-year-old has been in some solid form at his current preparation with two wins as well as some fighting efforts at Flemington and Moonee Valley. He has led at his past couple and stuck on well for 3rd over the 1600m behind Verdad two starts ago before going at a very fast clip at Moonee Valley over the 2040m last time before sticking on for 3rd behind Basilinna. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper is capable of maintaining a high cruising speed and will be full of fitness for this assignment. He will take some catching.
