- Race 2: No.6 Uncut Gem
- Race 6: No.6 Aquafire
- Race 7: No.9 Golden Honour
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Taree racecourse.
Race 1: No.3 Lost Illusions
The Kris Lees-trained Lost Illusions has improved with every start this preparation and looks set for back-to-back victories in this event.
Last start, the Proisir mare was four starts into this campaign when she finally shook the maiden monkey off her back and claimed victory in a Maiden Plate over 1850m at Newcastle.
Ben Osmond settled her mid-field before running home the strongest and prevailing by almost a length on the line.
Osmond sticks with her for this assignment where she draws the outside gate and maps to cross and settle near mid-field.
She is in career-best form now and with a trouble-free run here, she can certainly go back-to-back in this contest.
Race 2: No.6 Uncut Gem
The Locally-trained Uncut Gem is third-up here and should be ready to produce her best in this event.
Last start, the Star Turn mare was second-up and finished a little closer when she claimed third prize in a Tuncurry Maiden over 1205m.
Apprentice, Teighan Worsnop was aboard for the first time where she settled the mare mid-field with cover before working her home to claim the minor prize on a Soft 7 that day.
She draws gate six here and maps to settle in the first half-dozen as the stable remove the blinkers and replace them with winkers.
Worsnop sticks with the mare and brings a 1.5kg claim with her, making her task a little easier here.
All six podium finishes from her 12 career starts have come on rain affected tracks so the forecast Heavy 10 conditions look ideal.
Fitter for two runs back, she looks in the mix in this contest.
Race 6: No.6 Aquafire
Wyong trainer, Stephen Farley saddles-up Aquafire here who is fourth-up and looks well placed in this event.
Last start, the Headwater gelding came off his maiden win at Grafton when he took on his age group and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third over 1175m on the same track with Cejay Graham on board that day.
That made it three-straight podium finishes this preparation.
He draws gate six here and maps to be better than mid-field on settling with Luke Rolls on board as the new pilot.
Conditions look ideal form him after winning his maiden two starts back on a Heavy 8 at Grafton.
At his peak here, he should prove hard to beat in this contest.
Race 7: No.9 Golden Honour
Taree trainer, Glen Milligan saddles-up Golden Honour here who is in great touch this preparation and looks ready to bounce back and make it three wins from his past four starts in this event.
Last start, the Caravaggio gelding was shooting for the hat-trick when he drew wide and finished just behind the placegetters in a BM58 over 1450m at Kempsey.
With apprentice Teighan Worsnop in the saddle, the five-year-old was trapped three-deep without cover to the turn, and did well to finish less than 3.5 lengths from the winner carrying 60kgs that day.
He draws gate seven for the feature race here where he maps to settle near mid-field with cover as Matthew Bennett takes the reins for the first time.
The five-year-old has finished on the podium three times from his seven starts at the Taree track and given a clear run to the line, he can give this a real shake at odds.
