Sha Tin racing takes place onTuesday, October 1, with a 10-race program set down for the Sha Tin track.

Race 5: No.4  All Riches


The Ricky Yui-trained All Riches made a successful return after the season break and looks ready to go on with it in this event.

Last start, the Wandjina gelding resumed off an 11-week spell when he just missed leading all the way, finishing a close-up third in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1400m.

Ridden a treat by Derek Leung, he settled him on speed, sharing the lead with another, and showed plenty of grit in the run home, beaten less than a length on the line.

He has gate nine here but his early gate speed should see him cross and be on the pace on settling.

Leung sticks with him after 18 previous rides on the gelding.

Already placed twice when second-up previously, he will strip fitter off that first-up effort and carrying less weight here, looks one of the main chances in the contest.


Race 7: No.7  Call Me Glorious


Francis Lui saddles-up three runners here as we run with Call Me Glorious who looks the more likely to take out this event.

Last start, the No Nay Never gelding ended the ’23-’24 season with another top-shelf performance when he beat all but one home in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1200m.

With Zac Purton aboard that day, he took on Class 2 company for the first time and did well to finish within two lengths of the winner (Beauty Waves) who ran the 1200m out in a blistering 1:08.

Lyle Hewitson returns for his third ride on the galloper (with Purton committed to ride Stoltz), having ridden him to victory previously.

He steps-up sharply in grade today, taking on Group 3 company but already a winner when first-up, he will strip fitter for that first-up run and down in weight here, looks a strong each-way chance in the contest.


Race 8: No.1  Copartner Prance


Francis Lui has a handful of hopefuls in this event as we run with Copartner Prance who boasts a very strong resume and looks right in the mix today.

Last start, the Epaulette gelding resumed off the season break and on fresh legs, did well to take home third prize in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1200m.

With Zac Purton in the saddle, he settled in the box-seat and enjoyed the trail to the turn. 

When they sprinted, he couldn’t go with them but found another gear over the final 100m to fight back and fill the minor prize.

Second-up here, he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to be box-seating again with Purton remaining aboard for this assignment.

Already a winner at the track, he placed at his only previous second-up appearance and is a two-time winner in Class 2 company.

From the good draw and boasting all six career-wins to date coming with Purton in the saddle, he looks ready to go on with it in this contest.


Race 9: No.7  Packing Power


Unbeaten in two starts to date, the Danny Shum-trained Packing Power looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the Toronado gelding came off a 14-week spell and showing no signs of fatigue, clobbered a Class 4 field over 1200m at Happy Valley.

Zac Purton rode him a treat that night where he eventually settled just behind the leader to the turn and soon after straightening, whizzed past the front-runner and like all good $1.30 favourites, cruised to victory, putting 2.5 lengths on them, eased near the line.

He steps-up to Class 3 company for the first time here but drops 2kgs for the contest, with Purton remaining aboard.

He has drawn the outside gate today but with good early gate speed, maps to settle in the first half-dozen.

With a trouble-free run here, Purton should have him within striking distance on straightening and should be there at the finish.
