Sha Tin racing takes place on Sunday, December 1, with a 10-race program set down for Sha Tin racetrack.

Race 6: No.10  Never Peter Out


The Frankie Lor-trained galloper is three starts into this campaign and back in form, looks a serious chance of claiming another win in this event.

Last start, the New Zealand-sired gelding came off a second-up win on this track when he when he took home third prize in a Class 4, here over the 1650m trip.

He missed the kick that day and had an extra 3kgs to carry as well with Keith Yeung in the saddle.

He carries the same weight today but gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Yeung sticking with him for this mission.

His last two starts were his first on the all-weather-track and he appears to handle the surface well.

On the dirt again today and with a favourable draw, he looks in the mix in this contest.


Race 7: No.5  Raging Blizzard


The John Size-trained Raging Blizzard is third-up today and after two impressive showings this time in, looks set to stake a claim for victory today.

Last start, the Per Incanto gelding was second-up when he claimed third prize again in a Class 2 Hcp over 1200m at Happy Valley.

With Zac Purton aboard, he never looked comfortable in the run but found something in the run home to arrive in time and claim the minor prize in the race.

James McDonald steers the ship for the first time today and from gate nine, he maps to settle near mid-field with cover.

This is the five-year-old’s first look at the all-weather-track but already a winner when third-up and a two-time winner at the distance on the Sha Tin turf track, he ticks enough boxes to have him line up as a serious contender in this contest.


Race 8: No.6  Fighting Machine


Pierre Ng saddles-up Fighting Machine here who is in great form of late and looks a solid chance of taking out this event today.

Last start, the War Decree gelding continued with his consistent form when he beat all but one home in a Class 3, here over 1650m with his first look at the all-weather-track.

Drawn the car park in gate 11 (of 12), Alexis Badel rode him a treat (under the circumstances) settling him one off the fence after 300m.

He was the widest runner (six deep) on the turn and did a mighty job from there to claim second prize across the line.

He draws much better here in gate four and with regular rider Zac Purton back in the saddle, maps to settle near mid-field with cover.

Purton has 10 rides on the five-year-old in the bank, steering him to both career-wins to date, and with a trouble-free run here, can get the job done in this contest.


Race 10: No.4  Steps Ahead


The Francis Lui-trained galloper is in sensational form and second-up today, looks the one to beat again in this event.

Last start, the Written By gelding resumed off a 16-week spell and had enough under his belt to claim victory in a Class 3, here over 1400m on the turf track.

Vince Ho settled him two pairs back, one off the fence and he travelled well from that point.

He had the leader’s measure and soon after straightening, took over and held off the challenges to score an impressive win on fresh legs.

Ideally drawn in gate four today, Ho sticks with him and should have the four-year-old settled just behind the speed.

All five career-starts have been on the turf track here at Sha Tin where he is yet to miss a podium finish so conditions today are ideal for him.

A solid pace and a clear run home can see him saluting in this contest.
