Scone racing takes place on Tuesday, June 11, with a nine-race program set for the NSW meeting.
  • Race 2: No.10 The Favourite Son
  • Race 3: No.5 Social Outcast
  • Race 7: No.7 Irish Bliss

We have the best bets picked out from across day with value selections for Scone Racecourse.

Race 2: No.10 The Favourite Son

The Muswellbrook-based galloper is now five starts into this preparation and is in great touch of late.

Last start, The Autumn Sun gelding finally broke through after ten starts, taking out a 1500m Maiden on his home track.

He drew the outside gate that day and did it tough, parked three-wide the entire trip with Darryl McLellan aboard that day.

On a Heavy 9, he looked ‘at home’ in the conditions and simply finished best to win by almost a length on the line.

He steps-up to BM58 company here and despite carrying 2kgs extra, he looks a serious contender for the main prize in this contest, currently at double figures in the market.

Race 3: No.5 Social Outcast

The Cody Morgan-trained galloper has found his mojo of late and in top-shelf form now, looks a solid chance here at generous odds.

Last start, the Pariah gelding came off a big win at Coonabarabran (where he out four lengths on a Class 1 field) and ran an honest race, beating all but one home in a BM58 over the mile at Quirindi.

He meets similar company here but drops back to the 1300m trip with Braith Nock returning for his second ride on the four-year-old.

He draws well in gate five and maps to settle mid-field with cover.

Already a winner at the distance and has saluted on wet tracks as well, he will be at his peak here and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this event.

Race 7: No.7 Irish Bliss

The Nathan Doyle-trained three-year-old has hit the ground running this time in and based on his three starts so far, he will take beating here.

Last start, the Redwood gelding had Koby Jennings aboard and third-up, destroyed his rivals in a 1600m Maiden at Kembla Grange.

He drew wide (gate 9 of 10) and had 59kgs on his back that day and despite travelling wide the entire trip, he took over soon after straightening and ran away to win by two lengths on the line.

Jean Van Overmeire is the new pilot here where the three-year-old gets all the favours from gate one and maps to be on the speed from barrier rise.

At his peak in this contest, he looks the best of the day.
