  • Race 5: No.11 San Gavino
  • Race 6: No.3 Hellova Nature
  • Race 7: No.6 Jonny Be Swift

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for the Scone racecourse.

Race 1: No.6 Relentless Ruby

The Brett Cavanough-trained Relentless Ruby has found her mojo this time in and looks a serious competitor in this event.

Last start, the Lonhro filly finally cracked it for her first win when clobbered her rivals in a 1600m Maiden at Gunnedah.

Braith Nock rode her a treat, settling the filly mid-field with cover to the home turn, where she found the front and left them to sort out the minors as she went to the line two lengths clear in the end.

She steps up to BM58 grade here as Mitchell Bell takes the reins for the first time and from gate three, maps to just behind the speed again.

Given a clear run to the line and at her peak here, she can figure in the finish among these gallopers.

Race 5: No.11 San Gavino

Another from the Brett Cavanough stable is San Gavino who lines up here after four race starts and looks ready to win.

Last start, the Rip Van Winkle filly showed improvement when she beat all but one home in a 1600m Maiden on this track with Mitchell Bell in the saddle.

The three-year-old will strip much fitter now and has shown she now knows what it’s all about with that last effort.

Bell sticks with her here and from gate six, she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.

Given clear passage to the line, she can give this a real shake at odds and is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.

Race 6: No.3 Hellova Nature

Nathan Doyle saddles-up Hellova Nature here who resumes off a six-month absence and sporting a gear change, looks well placed to cause havoc on fresh legs.

Last start, the Hellbent gelding finished down the track in a BM72 over 1100m at Randwick.

The stable chose to geld the three-year-old and after three trials, he lines up here on fresh legs in blinkers for the first time.

He is strong when first-up and has Ben Osmond returning to steer the ship in this contest.

From gate two, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen and looks set to figure in the finish here.

Race 7: No.6 Jonny Be Swift

The Greg Hickman-trained Jonny Be Swift resumes after a lengthy five months off the scene but with two trials behind him, he can certainly make his presence felt in this event.

Last start, the well-bred So You Think gelding ended his last campaign with a fourth-straight podium finish, crossing the line in third place in a BM66 over 1750m on a Heavy 9 at Muswellbrook.

Aaron Bullock was aboard that day and is charge of proceedings for this assignment.

He jumps from gate nine here and maps to settle in the back half of the field with cover.

Already a winner when first-up and successful over the 1400m previously, if he sees daylight on straightening, he can be there at the finish.
