Race 3 1:25pm NEDS VILLAGE STAKES Tips

Lombardo should be tough to beat based on his last two wins. The first win came at Morphettville by 5.5 lengths behind scorching them at Moonee Valley when winning by four lengths. It’s red-hot form for this contest and punters should take the short odds available.

The likes of Pandemic and War Correspondent are the biggest dangers, but we’re confident with the odds-on favourite.

It’s a wide-open race, but we were impressed with Crystal Bound’s recent win at Flemington. The three-year-old defeated a subsequent winner down the Flemington straight, and she looked strong to the line. Drawing the rail at Caulfield is a bonus, so expect another top effort.

New York Baby is a danger. She is unbeaten after two starts, and she only needs to cope with the wide draw to go close.

Delphi has been well-backed to win and we like the imports' chances. He only narrowly went down behind Nonconformist last start, and that form could be franked earlier in the day. The betting plunge is positive, so the four-time winner from eight starts could add to his record.

Race 3 1:45pm CERRONE BM78 Tips

Solar Apex couldn’t have been more impressive when winning at Gosford last start. This is a different type of race, but the Chris Waller-trained gelding looks to have matured nicely this season. He justified the short odds last start, and punters get better odds this time around.

Herman Hesse also comes off two impressive wins, so the Maher/Eustace-trained runner shouldn’t be overlooked.

Money has come for Coastwatch and it’s not hard to see why. The Waller-trained runner finished third in the Golden Rose, which is excellent form. Waller has a big opinion of this runner, and we don’t take his word lightly. $1.90 is a fair price and he should run well.

The danger will come from Brigantine and Hilal. Respect their chances.

Eagle Farm

Fetch couldn’t have been more impressive on debut at Goulburn, scoring by 3.8 lengths as the odds-on favourite. She has since been given three trials in Queensland, winning one of them and placing in the other two. She has been heavily backed since markets opened, which is a great sign. It’s a tough field, but she looks to have speed.

Tiger Heart and Stellar Magic both have upside, and they’re proven winners, so keep them safe.

Race 7 5:02pm NUDGEE COLLEGE CUP Tips

That was a nice return to racing for Apache Chase, who scored by a short margin at Toowoomba fresh up. The four-year-old gelding is a five-time winner at Eagle Farm and a four-time winner over the distance, so the statistics read well.

We would be surprised if he wasn’t fighting out the finish.

Race 1 1:02pm FURPHY BM68 Tips

Philonize scored an impressive win at Morphettville Parks last start, which should be a good form guide. She won by 1.5 lengths as the short favourite, and she shouldn’t find this field much harder.

Ballynora and Brother’s Shadow could provide a challenge, but punters should stick with the favourite.

Race 3 2:12pm SPRING CARNIVAL BM68 Tips

The Billionaire could provide punters with plenty at Morphettville on Saturday. The Freedman-trained gelding ran second at Mornington behind Starry Legend, and that form bodes well in Adelaide. He has been around the mark throughout his career and we would be surprised if he wasn’t fighting out the finish.

He gets the inside draw and we see only one danger in Thrill Kill, but he should have it covered.

Race 5 5:33pm CROWN SPORTS BAR BM78 Tips

Kissonallforcheeks owns six wins and four placings from 12 starts, so she is a professional winner who rarely lets punters down. She finished second fresh up behind All Day Session as a $2.60 chance, but there was plenty of merit in the performance.

She owns five wins at Ascot, so she is the best of the day in Perth.
